CQC Single Assessment Framework – the CQC website continues to be lightly refreshed to reflect the incoming changes. It is a great source of what the key changes are and how the CQC will assess, monitor and inspect regulated providers going forward.
GO Online: Inspection toolkit – this Skills for Care free online resource is currently is shaped around the CQC Key lines of enquiry but a new version is in development for release spring 2023 shaped around the CQC Single Assessment Framework. The updated resource will brings together films, recommendations, practical examples and resources shaped around the new CQC Quality Statements. We’ll be looking to pilot this with provider volunteers later this winter. NB: The printed update to our Good and Outstanding care guide will follow later in 2023 after the CQC has finalised all changes.
e-learning modules – Skills for Care has produced 3 separate e-learning modules shaped around CQC inspection. Being prepared for your CQC inspection is aimed at those discovering inspection for the first time, Improving your CQC rating is aimed at services recovering after falling below CQC standards. Delivering outstanding care is aimed at services striving to deliver the best quality care possible. All three modules will be lightly refreshed in advance of the Single Assessment Framework being introduced.
Seminars – Skills for Care has produced 2 half-day seminars brining managers and quality leads together to discuss CQC inspection and associated evidence. Being prepared for CQC inspection (advanced) includes 1-hour overview of the Single Assessment Framework, as well as more holistic focus on what you need to prepare. Improving your CQC rating (advanced) includes focus on ensuring you consider new inspection changes as well as any improvements you need to evidence. Both seminars are delivered quarterly by Skills for Care, but are also available to be directly commissioned by providers for your teams.

The Outstanding Society
In 2021 the Outstanding Society (OS) was set up as a Community Interest Company (CIC).
This was to provide a platform to share and celebrate best practice whilst helping others to improve and raise the profile of Social Care.
Our joint vision as Directors is to give Providers Free membership which will allow access to our virtual events, newsletters, podcasts and the OS app. It will provide a platform for all providers to access topical information and will also be a platform to celebrate innovation and share best practice.
We continue to have close partnerships with Care England, Skills for care, the Care Workers Charity and the DHSC.
You do not need to have an Outstanding rating to become a member we are open to anyone who currently works in Social Care or is considering joining this rewarding sector.
